Co-Admission Requirements, Track B

You are considered a freshman if you have completed fewer than 40 quarter credits of transferable college coursework (excluding Running Start).

Freshman applicants must have completed the following high school prerequisites for admission:

  • English - 4 years - including at least 3 years of composition and literature
  • Mathematics - 3 years - beyond pre-algebra (1 year each of algebra I, geometry, and advanced algebra), an additional year is recommended
  • Science - 2 years - including 1 year of lab science: biology, chemistry, or physics
  • Foreign language - 2 years - of a single language other than English
  • Social science - 3 years
  • One year in fine, visual, or performing arts, or an additional year of the courses listed above

Steps to Apply

Track B (you have completed fewer than 40 quarter credits of transferable college coursework, or none at all, and meet WSU's freshman entrance requirements):

Complete the Co-Admission application (PDF) and submit to WSU Vancouver Office of Admissions. Submit the following items as part of your Co-Admission application (PDF):

  • official high school transcript
  • official SAT/ACT scores
  • personal statement
  • $50 application fee

Note: As part of the Co-Admission program Lower Columbia College will provide your official Lower Columbia transcript to WSU free of charge.

Application Tips

  • To facilitate the admission procedure collect official* transcripts yourself and submit them with the application.
    *Transcripts are NOT considered official if the seal on the envelope has been broken.
  • Your application will be processed for the semester and year indicated on your application form. If your plans to enroll for that term change, please call (360) 546-9779.
  • Students must have a minimum cumulative transfer GPA of 2.5 and a minimum of 27 semester (40 quarter) college credits. Some programs have a higher cumulative GPA requirement.
  • Make sure that you carefully answer each question and sign your name. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
  • Any questions should be directed to the Admissions Office at (360) 546-9779.
  • Running Start/CHS students who have not graduated from high school, or have not taken any college course work after high school graduation (excluding summers) will need to follow Track B Co-admission procedures.

Personal Statement

WSU Vancouver would like to better understand your perspectives, contributions, qualifications and diverse talents. Please address your experience in each personal statement category, keeping in mind how you can contribute to the the future community of excellence at Washington State University Vancouver. Adhere to the following format guidelines:

  • Check the accuracy of your grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Type or write your responses on sheets of 8.5“ X 11“ paper. Limit answers to 100 words per question. Double space your lines and use only one side of each sheet.
  • Place your name, the date and the words “PERSONAL STATEMENT” with your WSU ID or Social Security number (SSN is optional) at the top of each page and attach the pages to your application.
