Selection Criteria

Selection Process

The selection process has three components: an application, group interview, and individual interview, and concludes in early April.

Applications are carefully screened by a selection committee who determine which candidates continue to the group interview stage. Of the group interviewees approximately half are selected to participate in the individual interview phase. Final selection of 12 Ambassadors is made from the individual interviews.

Remember, applications are due online by Sunday, February 19, 2012.

Academic Success

Grades are just one factor considered in the selection of Student Ambassadors. The selection committee will review each application holistically, meaning grades are considered along with applicant’s answers to the written application and the interview process. Students must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA to be considered.

Course Load

Students must be enrolled in at least 6 semester credits per semester (fall and spring) at WSU Vancouver.

Leadership and Communication

The written application and interview process are designed to assess each candidate's leadership potential and communication skills. The Student Ambassador program represents all aspects of the University and each student should have the capacity to effectively communicate and lead others.
