The Office of Student Involvement manages and/or assists in providing the following recreational facilities on campus. All spaces are accessible by WSU Vancouver students, faculty and staff free of charge. If you have questions about the use of the following spaces contact the Recreation office.
The Recreation Office is the best place to find out what is happening with upcoming rec activities. The office is where the Rental Program, most event and team sign-ups, and equipment check-out take place. The office is also where you can borrow rec-related guide books, ask about the best local spots to explore, and where the helpful rec staff reside.
The Fitness Center, located in the basement of the library, has been remodeled several times to best accommodate the growing student body. It now fills the entire basement of the Library Building and registers at 2,340 square feet.
Facility users will find cardio equipment such as treadmills, elliptical trainers and stationary bikes, and strength training equipment including free weights and selectorized machines.
The newly acquired space allows for fitness classes within the Fitness Center. Additionally, users will find day-use lockers and shower facilities for their convenience.
The fields located off the main entrance road and next to the Multi-Purpose Court are primarily used for intramural soccer and flag football. The space includes two soccer and one football field, benches and trails connecting the fields to the campus and NE 29th Ave. Developed in 2008 the fields have also given way to impromptu student kickball competitions and field game activities.
Disc golf course
The campus houses one of the only local courses! The 9-holed disc golf course located east of the Undergraduate Classroom Building is open and free to all users. Disc sets, score cards and maps are available at the Recreation office in the Firstenburg Student Commons. If you have your own equipment, score cards and maps are available for download (PDF).
The court can be set up for many athletic activities such as basketball, volleyball and a campus favorite- dodgeball. The court is open and free to all users.
