RSO Registration Process
All Registered Student Organizations (RSOs, a.k.a. Clubs ) are required to register each academic year through the CougSync portal. The steps to register and become an active RSO are below. Registration can take place at any time during the academic year but you are encouraged to do so as soon as you can in order to take advantage of club privileges.
RSOs granted active status must have a name, purpose, at least 5 current WSU Vancouver students, qualification for membership, designated leadership, a Constitution and a WSU Vancouver faculty or staff member as an advisor.
Washington State University Vancouver will not recognize any student organization which denies membership to any student because of race, religion, sex, color, national or ethnic origin, age, marital status, or disability. RSOs must ensure that additional policies and procedures do not create de facto differentiation.
Steps to become an RSO
- Gather 5 current WSU Vancouver students and one faculty/staff advisor committed to the organization.
- Register and attend the Club Orientation and CougSync Training.
- Create a RSO profile on CougSync.
- Upload the RSO constitution to your profile page in CougSync.
- All 5 student members/officers and advisor create CougSync accounts and join your RSO.
RSO orientation
Orientation is an opportunity for RSOs to learn about the resources, policies and funding opportunities available. Orientation is required of all organizations and must be attended by at least one member of the RSO. More members are encouraged to attend as well as the advisor. RSO Orientations are offered approximately once per month.
Check back for listings of future orientations.
