Student Leadership Recognition Program

The Student Leadership Recognition Program serves to honor students who have exhibited excellence in leadership at WSU Vancouver. Students will be recognized for their contributions to the campus and the broader community. The event features a keynote speaker and the recognition of student leaders from: ASWSUV, Peer Mentors, Registered Student Organizations (clubs), Student Affairs Interns/Workers, Student Ambassadors, Student Media Organizations, and Supplemental Instructors. In addition, recipients of the four Student Leadership Awards will be honored. Faculty, staff, family and friends are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.

Student leadership awards

Student leaders and/or student organizations may be nominated or can apply directly for the following awards. Nominations and applications are now closed. A committee of staff, faculty and alumni will review applications and choose a recipient for each award. Recipients will be honored at the Student Leadership Recognition Program.


Club of the Year Award - Criteria & Eligibility

Purpose: The Club of the Year Award is designed to recognize an outstanding Registered Student Organization (RSO) at Washington State University Vancouver. The recipient organization demonstrates quality leadership attributes, is actively engaged in campus life and promotes student involvement.

Emerging Leader Award - Criteria & Eligibility

Purpose: The Emerging Leader Award is designed to recognize an individual’s leadership achievements in his/her first year at Washington State University Vancouver. The recipient will represent the positive attributes of student leadership and will have contributed to student life on campus.

Humanitarian Award - Criteria & Eligibility

Purpose: The Humanitarian Award was developed by WSU Vancouver's Office of Student Affairs to honor persons who are making significant contributions to the community with their time, actions and dedication. Students and Registered Student Organizations may be nominated by any member of the WSU Vancouver community including: faculty, staff and current students.
