Reinstatement conditions

After you have been reinstated, the reinstatement team will assign reinstatement conditions. There are two options for conditions – Option A: UNIV 250 and Option B: Workshops and Academic Coaching. See below for instructions for each option. Be sure to check your WSU email for your assigned reinstatement conditions.

Option A: UNIV 250

  1. Participate and pass UNIV 250 – Success in College and Beyond. You will automatically be enrolled in the reinstatement section for the term you are reinstated.
    • UNIV 250, 1 credit, P/F course
    • Days and times to be announced each term
  2. Meet with your academic advisor once prior to week four of the semester for an academic check in. You are also encouraged to check in with your academic advisor prior to the start of the term for any needed schedule changes.

Option B: Workshops and Academic Coaching

  1. Complete four university success workshops during the semester. There are options for on-demand, in-person, or online workshops (see below):
    • On-demand workshops: Follow workshops.reinstatement.wsu.edu to be taken to the Academic Success and Career Center. Log in with your WSU network ID and password, and you will be offered a workshop menu (Learning Strategies, Note-taking Strategies, Time Management Strategies, Motivation and Procrastination, and Leveraging Career Readiness Skills and Creating a Professional Presence on Handshake). You will be tasked with completing a quiz at the end. A score of 80% is required to be considered complete.
    • Online reinstatement workshops: Workshop options will be shared via email.
    • In-person reinstatement workshops: Workshop options will be shared via email.
  2. Meet with your academic advisor once prior to week three of the semester for an academic check in. You are also encouraged to check in with your academic advisor prior to the start of the term for any needed schedule changes.
  3. Create a Time Management Map for each week of the semester and send it to your academic advisor after your first meeting. This document will be provided to you by your advisor when you meet.
  4. Meet with your academic advisor a second time prior to week seven of the semester for an academic check in.

The conditions above are to support you while on academic probation by providing academic resources, advising touch points for timely questions and check-ins and academic success strategies to put into action during your academic journey.

Important Note: To enroll in courses for Fall 2024, you must complete these reinstatement conditions by noon (12pm) Friday, April 5th, 2024. If you do not complete these conditions by the deadline, you will have a reinstatement conditions hold placed on your student account, and you may need to take extra steps to continue to next semester.

If you have questions about your reinstatement conditions, email van.reinstatement@wsu.edu.
