myWSU Info

myWSU is our online student portal that supports admissions, financial aid and scholarships, academic advising and much more. This page will help guide you through myWSU, with instructions on accomplishing various tasks.


First-time users

 

How to log into myWSU for the first time:

  1. Turn off all pop-up blockers in your internet browser.
  2. Go to Account Creation and enter the Temporary Access Network Key (TANK) that was emailed to you. (If you don't know your TANK, please contact the Office of Admissions at 360-546-9779 or van.admissions@wsu.edu).
  3. You will be prompted to select an email address for a PIN delivery.
  4. Your PIN should arrive shortly. When you receive it, go back to Account Creation.
  5. Enter your PIN and birthdate to continue.
  6. Create a password for your Network ID along with a question-and-answer combination for additional security. After submitting, you will receive a confirmation email.
  7. Keep a record of your new Network ID, but do not share this or your password with anyone else. Print the confirmation page or store a copy in a safe location until you've memorized your new Network ID and password.

Parent/Spouse/Other — How to create a "Friend ID" to view a student's information:

  1. Log into your myWSU account
    • Applicants
      1. Select “Third Party Access.”
    • Current students
      1. Select “Profile.”
      2. Select “Third Party Access.”
  2. Select "Share My Information."
  3. Follow instructions on how to give access.

Admission process tutorials


How to update your contact information (email, mailing address, phone number, etc.):

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
    • Applicants
      1. Select “Student Center.”
      2. Locate "Personal Information" section.
      3. Select "Home Address," "Mailing Address" or "Home Telephone" to update corresponding information.
    • Current students
      1. Select “Profile.”
        • For email and phone numbers, select “Contact Details.”
        • For home and mailing addresses, select "Addresses."
      2. Select the contact information to be changed.
      3. Update your information and select "Save."

How to set up your WSU email account:

  1. Go to office365.wsu.edu.
  2. Log in through the WSU sign-in page with your Network ID and password (same as myWSU login).
  3. On the Office 365 landing page, click the "Mail" icon link.
    • The first time you access this, it will ask you to set your time zone.
    • Your email address will be: YourNetworkID@wsu.edu

How to check your admission status and missing items:

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
  2. Select “Student Center.”
  3. View checklist items under the “Admissions” section.
  4. Click “Details” then the checklist item for further information/explanation of the requested item.

Submitted items such as transcripts and test scores may take up to three weeks to show they've been received.

If your status reads “APP RECEIVED, NOT YET REVIEWED”, we have received your application, but it has not been reviewed. Checklist items will be out of date.


What do the symbols in my student center mean?

  • Yellow triangle Incomplete: File is incomplete, please refer to the items listed under “Admissions.”
  • Green circle Complete: File is complete, no additional information is needed at this time.
  • Green check mark Admitted: Offered admission. Select the accept link if you are ready to pay your $200 confirmation deposit and accept your offer of admission.
  • Crimson Coug shield Confirmed: Your spot in our incoming class has been reserved for the term listed. Welcome to WSU Vancouver!

Where can I find my WSU student ID number?

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
    • Applicants
      1. Select “Student Center.”
      2. Locate "Personal Information" section.
      3. Select "Demographic Data."
    • Current students
      1. Select “Profile.”
  2. Your WSU ID number is displayed at the top of the page after "ID."

How to accept your offer of admission:

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
  2. Select “Student Center.”
  3. Select “Accept/Decline Admission.” (DO NOT click the “Make a Payment” button.)
  4. Accept your offer of admission and then proceed to pay the $200 advanced tuition/confirmation deposit to hold your spot in the incoming class.

*Tuition deposit can be waived if a student is Pell Grant eligible. For more information, contact the Office of Admissions at 360-546-9779 or van.admissions@wsu.edu.


How to read/review the transfer equivalency guide:

  1. Visit the Transfer Credit home page.
  2. Select "Transfer Course Search Tool."
  3. Select “Browse Transfer Course Information,” if you know the WSU course you need to take.
  4. Select “Transfer Course Search,” if you know the transfer institution course and want to know the WSU equivalent.

How to read/review your transfer credit report:

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
    • Applicants
      1. Select “Student Center.”
      2. Select "Main Menu."
    • Current students
      1. Select “NavBar.” (compass icon)
      2. Select “Navigator.”
  2. Select “Self Service.”
  3. Select “Transfer Credit.”
  4. Select “View Transfer Credit Report.”

Transfer Credit Reports are created after you confirm your offer of admission by accepting your offer of admission and paying the $200 confirmation deposit.


Financial aid and student account tutorials


How to review what is missing from your financial aid file

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
    • Applicants
      1. Select “Student Center.”
      2. View checklist items under the “Financial Aid” and "Student Financials" sections.
      3. Select “Details” and then select the item for further information on the missing document.
    • Current students
      1. Select “Financial Aid.”

How to view your financial aid award:

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
    • Applicants
      1. Select “Student Center.”
      2. Under the "Finances" section, select "View Financial Aid."
      3. To view a specific year's award, select "Change" next to the year indicated at the top of the page.
    • Current students
      1. Select “Financial Aid.”

How to accept/decline your financial aid loans:

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
    • Applicants
      1. Select “Student Center.”
      2. Under the "Finances" section, select "Accept/Decline Awards."
      3. Select the award you wish to accept.
      4. Select "accept/decline" awards.
    • Current students
      1. Select “Financial Aid.”
      2. Under the "Awards" menu, select "Accept/Decline."
      3. Select the "Edit" button above the list of awards.
      4. Under the "Award Decision" column in the list of awards, select "Accept" or "Decline" in the selection drop-down next to each award.
      5. Select the "Submit" button above the list of awards and confirm you wish to submit your decision.

How to view itemized list of charges and payments

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
    • Applicants
      1. Select “Student Center.”
      2. Under the "Finances" section, select "Account Inquiry."
      3. Under the "Account Inquiry" tab, select "Activity" to see all charges and payments.
      4. To view all outstanding charges, select “summary” or “charges due.”
      5. To view payments, select "payments."
    • Current students
      1. Select “Financial Account.”
      2. Outstanding charges will be listed under "Account Balance."
      3. To view payments, select "Payment History."

Setting up direct deposit, bank accounts and student permissions for financial aid

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
    • Applicants
      1. Select “Student Center.”
      2. Under the "Finances" section, select "Account Inquiry."
    • Current students
      1. Select “Financial Account.”
  2. Select “Account Services.”
  3. Account Services has multiple tabs:
    • Select "Direct Deposit" or “Enroll in Direct Deposit” to add or modify a bank account for direct deposit.
    • Select "Student Permission" or “View Student Permissions” to grant permission for financial aid.
    • Select "bank accounts" or “Manage My Bank Accounts” to see what bank accounts are associated with your student account.

Class schedule and registration tutorials


How to view your class schedule:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. Select “Manage Classes.” A calendar with classes will be displayed under "Weekly Schedule."

How to add/register for/enroll in classes thru the first week of classes:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. Select “Manage Classes.”
  3. Select "Class Search and Enroll."
  4. Select the term in which you wish to add a class.
  5. Enter keywords (e.g. "english 101") into the search field under "Search For Classes."
  6. Filter the list to display only Vancouver courses by selecting "Vancouver Campus" under the "Campus" menu heading.
  7. Select the class you wish to enroll in.
  8. On the "Course Information" page that is displayed, select "Class Selection," then select an option listed under "Select a class option."

You will now be presented with steps to review the class you selected.

  1. Review your selected class in step 1, "Review Class Selection."
  2. Advance to step 2 by selecting "Review Class Preferences."
  3. Choose to be added to waitlist if you wish, then select the "Accept" button.
  4. In step 3, "Enroll or Add to Cart," select "Enroll" if you are eligible to enroll at this date, or select "Add to Shopping Cart" to save this class selection for enrollment at a later date. Select the "Next" button at the top of the page.
  5. In step 4, "Review and Submit," review the selected course once more, then select the "Submit" button.

How to drop (remove) a class thru the 20th day of classes:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. Select “Manage Classes.”
  3. Select "Drop Classes."
  4. Select the term in which you wish to drop a class.

You will now be presented with steps to review the classes you wish to drop.

  1. Find the class you wish to drop in step 1, "Select Classes to Drop."
  2. Select the check box under the "Select" column of the class, and select a "Reason for Dropping."
  3. Select the "Next" button at the top of the page.
  4. In step 2, "Review Classes to Drop," review the selected course once more, then select the "Drop Classes" button.

How to view your final exam schedule:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. Select “Manage Classes.”
  3. On your "Weekly Schedule" page, select "View my Exam Schedule" (link located immediately above your schedule calendar).

How to view your grades:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. Select “Academic Records.”
  3. Select "View Grades."
  4. Select the current term.

How to check your enrollment date:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. Select “Manage Classes.”
  3. Select "Enrollment Dates."

How to check for holds:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. Select “Tasks.”
  3. Select "Holds."

How to view your unofficial transcript:

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
  2. Select “Academic Records.”
  3. Select “View Unofficial Transcript.”
