myWSU Info

myWSU is our online student portal that supports admissions, financial aid and scholarships, academic advising and much more. This page will help guide you through myWSU, with instructions on accomplishing upcoming tasks.


First-time users

 

How to log into myWSU for the first time:

  1. Make sure you turn off all pop-up blockers from your internet browser.
  2. Go to Account Creation and enter the Temporary Access Network Key (TANK) that was emailed to you. (If you don't know your TANK, please contact the Office of Admissions at 360-546-9779 or van.admissions@wsu.edu).
  3. You will be prompted to select an email address for a PIN delivery.
  4. Your PIN should arrive shortly. When you receive it, go back to Account Creation.
  5. Enter your PIN and birthdate to continue.
  6. Create a password for your Network ID along with a question-and-answer combination for additional security. After submitting, you will receive a confirmation email.
  7. Keep a record of your new Network ID, but do not share this or your password with anyone else. Print the confirmation page or store a copy in a safe location until you've memorized your new Network ID and password.

Parent/Spouse/Other — How to create a "Friend ID" to view a student's information:

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
  2. From the main menu select “self service” then click “third party access.”
  3. Select “third party access” again and follow instructions on how to give access.

Admission process tutorials

How to update your contact information (email, mailing address, phone number, etc.):

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
  2. Go to “My Profile” and select “Update Personal Information.”
  3. Select the address type to be changed, or one of the other options available.

How to set up your WSU email account:

  1. Go to office365.wsu.edu.
  2. Log in through the WSU sign-in page with your Network ID and password (same as myWSU login).
  3. On the Office 365 landing page, click the "Mail" icon link.
    • The first time you access this, it will ask you to set your time zone.

Your email address will be: YourNetworkID@wsu.edu

(Replace 'YourNetworkID' with your personal Network ID. For example: butch.cougar@wsu.edu.)

How to check your admission status and missing items:

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
  2. From the main menu select “self service” then select “student center.”
  3. View checklist items on the right-hand side of the page under “Admissions.”
  4. Click “details” then the checklist item for further information/explanation of the requested item.

Submitted items such as transcripts and test scores may take up to three weeks to show they've been received.

If your status reads “APP RECEIVED, NOT YET REVIEWED”, we have received your application, but it has not been reviewed. Checklist items will be out of date.

What do the symbols in my student center mean?

  • Yellow triangle Incomplete: File is incomplete, please refer to the items listed under “Admissions.”
  • Green circle Complete: File is complete, no additional information is needed at this time.
  • Green check mark Admitted: Offered admission. Click the accept link if you are ready to pay your $200 confirmation deposit and accept your offer of admission.
  • Crimson Coug shield Confirmed: Your spot in our incoming class has been reserved for the term listed. Welcome to WSU Vancouver!

Where can I find my WSU student ID number?

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
  2. Click “Go to my student center
  3. Under the “Personal Information” tab, click “Demographic Data

How to accept your offer of admission:

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
  2. From the main menu select “self service,” then select “student center.”
  3. In the middle of the “student center” you’ll see a link that says “accept/decline admission”, click that link. (DO NOT click the “make a payment” button.)
  4. Accept your offer of admission and then proceed to pay the $200 advanced tuition/confirmation deposit to hold your spot in the incoming class.

*Tuition deposit can be waived if a student is Pell Grant eligible. For more information, contact the Office of Admissions at 360-546-9779 or van.admissions@wsu.edu.

How to read/review the transfer equivalency guide:

  1. Visit the myWSU home page.
  2. Click the “Transfer Course Information” link.
  3. Select “Browse Transfer Course Information,” if you know the WSU course you need to take.
  4. Select “Transfer Course Search,” if you know the transfer institution course and want to know the WSU equivalent.

How to read/review your transfer credit report:

  1. Log into your myWSU account.
  2. From the main menu select “self service.”
  3. From “self service,” select “transfer credit,” then click “view transfer credit report.”

Transfer Credit Reports are created after you confirm your offer of admission by accepting your offer of admission and paying the $200 confirmation deposit.


Financial aid and student account tutorials

How to review what is missing from your financial aid file:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. From the main menu select “self service” then select “student center.”
  3. View checklist items on the right hand side under “finances.”
  4. Click “details” and then select the item for further information on the missing document.

How to view your financial aid award:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. From the main menu select “self service” then select “student center.”
  3. Select “View Financial Aid” under the finances tab.
  4. Select 2017 year (for spring 2018 start) or 2018 year (for fall 2017 start).

How to accept/decline your financial aid loans:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. From the main menu select “self service” then select “student center.”
  3. Under finances select “Accept/Decline Awards
  4. Select 2017 year (for spring 2018 start) or 2018 year (for fall 2017 start).
  5. Click “accept/decline” awards.

How to view itemized list of charges and payments:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. From the main menu select “self service” then select “student center.”
  3. Select Account Inquiry under the Finances tab (under “My Account”).
  4. Click “account inquiry” tab.
  5. Next, select the “activity” tab.
  6. You should see all charges and payments that have been made here.
  7. Select “summary” or “charges due” tab to see all outstanding charges.
  8. Under the “payments” tab you will see any past/current payments that have been made.

Setting up direct deposit, bank accounts and student permissions:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. From the main menu selct “self service” then select “student center.”
  3. Account services has three tabs that show direct deposit, student permission and bank accounts.
  4. Select the “direct deposit” tab to add or modify a bank account for direct deposit.
  5. Select the “student permission” tab to grant permission for financial aid.
  6. Select the “bank accounts” tab to see what bank accounts are associated with your student account.

Class schedule and registration tutorials

How to view your class schedule:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. From the main menu select “self service” then select “student center.”
  3. Under academics use the drop down menu to find “class schedule” then click “go.”

How to add (register for) classes thru the first week of classes:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. Click on the “student center.”
  3. Select “enroll” on the top left side.
  4. Click on the “add” tab at the top.
  5. Use the search bar to search by class number or select class search.
  6. Select subject and search.
  7. Once you’ve identified the class you wish to enroll in, click the green button that says “select class.”
  8. The class is now in your shopping cart. To check out, complete the next two steps by clicking complete step 2 of 3 and then pressing confirm to finish adding the class.
  9. Your class should now be added but double check that the class is added in your student center in your student schedule.

How to drop (remove) a class thru the 20th day of classes:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. Click on the “student center.”
  3. Select “enroll” on the top left side.
  4. Click on the “drop” tab at the top.
  5. Select the class that you want to drop and click “drop selected class,” then “confirm.”
  6. Select the box of the class that you want to drop and click “drop selected class.”

How to view your final exam schedule:

  1. Log in to your myWSU account.
  2. Click on “Go to my Student Center.”
  3. In the Academics section, open the "other academic..." drop-down menu.
  4. Select "Exam Schedule" and click the double-arrow go button to the right.
  5. You should be presented with a list of your classes with exam date, time and room location details.
