There are regularly new events and opportunities for you to get engaged on and off campus. Many have become favorites and we're proud to coordinate these growing traditions.
Make it a goal to participate in each of them before you graduate. Check Coug Presence and the campus Events Calendar for details on upcoming events.
Back-to-School BBQ & Field Day
Traditionally held in August and January, these are the largest and most fun events of the year. Enjoy free Hawaiian BBQ, scale a rock wall, navigate an obstacle course and hang-out with fellow VanCougs!
Join your fellow VanCougs for comic bowling! Bring a friend and bowl for raffle tickets and the chance to win cool prizes. Bowling nights are held the first Thursday of every month across the school year.
Cougar Leadership Program
This Cougar Leadership Program is a partnership between the Office of Student Involvement and the Associated Students of Washington State University Vancouver. The OSI programming intern and the ASWSUV director of leadership development collaborate to develop and execute meaningful leadership programming. Several programs are planned throughout the year, including a leadership conference that is held in February.
Attending is a campus tradition! This fall and spring event brings together active student organizations, campus departments and other groups who offer opportunities for student involvement and employment.
Mt. Bachelor Ski Trip
The annual ski trip to Mt. Bachelor is traditionally scheduled the weekend after Presidents' weekend in February.
Outdoor Movie Night
Gather outside on campus for an evening under the stars in front of the big screen! Bring your own blanket or outdoor seating and enjoy free snacks and fun games until the sun goes down. The feature presentation begins at sunset. This event is held on the Friday of fall Week of Welcome.
A huge themed party hosted at a large venue off-campus, Spring Fling is one the most exciting events of the year! A dance floor, photo booth, snacks, refreshments, and games and activities are only the beginning of this all-out VanCoug soiree! This event is held in March or April.
Student Leadership Recognition Program
This April event honors students who have exhibited excellence in leadership at WSU Vancouver.
This November event showcases the art of photography by students, faculty and staff.
Women of Distinction
Women of Distinction celebrates Women’s History Month, observed in March, and recognizes women who have made a difference in the lives of others.
