LaRonda Zupp

LaRonda Zupp, MS

Access Center Coordinator

LaRonda Zupp joined WSU Vancouver in August of 2018. As a Deaf individual, LaRonda has first-hand knowledge and experience of the challenges, frustrations and issues faced by the disabled community when seeking equal access to information, education, services and involvement. She credits her former college advisor in Disability Support Services, with teaching her many years ago as a young first-year student, and newly deafened, how to understand her own accommodation needs, her right to accessibility and inclusion, and how to ask for equal access. Empowered from the self-advocacy skills she learned in college, LaRonda went on to earn a BA in Deaf Studies from California State University, Northridge (1987), an MS in Rehabilitation Counseling from Western Oregon State College (1990), and several post-graduate certificates. She has worked with the disabled community in a professional capacity for over 35 years, devoting much of her professional life toward empowering individuals with self-acceptance, self-advocacy skills, and promoting disability awareness and pride.
