
WSU Vancouver participates in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE), a program that allows out-of-state students to save $12,000 a year on tuition. Eligible first-year and transfer students are automatically considered. The award is renewable for up to three additional years, helping out-of-state students reduce the cost of earning a high-quality degree.

This award applies to full-time undergraduate students at WSU Vancouver and is not available to graduate or international students.
WUE is automatically applied and cannot be combined with other tuition waivers. Cannot be used for study abroad programs. Summer sessions are excluded.
Selection Criteria
Eligible students must:
- Have a minimum 3.0 unweighted high school GPA for first-year students or a minimum 3.0 GPA for transfer students
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
- *Reside outside Washington state in a WUE-participating state or U.S. territory (see full list)
- Enroll at WSU Vancouver full-time (minimum 12 credits per semester
How to Apply
No separate application is required. Simply:
- Apply for admission to WSU Vancouver by:
- May 1 for fall term
- November 15 for spring term
- Submit all required admission materials
That’s it—no application, essay, or letter of recommendation required.
Qualified students will be notified automatically upon admission.
Award Renewal
To continue receiving WUE, you must:
- Maintain good academic standing at WSU Vancouver
- Remain enrolled full-time (12 credits per semester)
- Complete 24 graded credits per academic year (excluding summer)
- Maintain nonresident status and enrollment in an undergraduate, non-professional degree program
**WUE is renewable for up to three additional years (maximum eight semesters) or until the first bachelor’s degree is completed.
